I'm Dyan, Coordinator for CALLS. I organize group programs and community partnerships, make sure all of the paperwork gets done, and help to staff the office in Strathcona County. I am passionate about Plain Language, responsive programming, and continuous learning. My favourite thing about working with CALLS is running into former learners and finding out all of the good things that have happened in their lives since they graduated from our programs.

I'm Maza, Literacy Coordinator for CALLS. I recruit tutors and learners to join at least one of our programs. Our programs have so much to offer and there is something for everyone. It makes me very happy to see people make progress in achieving their goals.

What We Do

Community Adult Learning & Literacy Society (CALLS) is a non-profit organization funded by the Government of Alberta. We offer learning opportunities to adult residents in Fort Saskatchewan and Strathcona County.

Our programming focuses on adult learners who face barriers getting into learning opportunities. We offer classes and volunteer led activities for adults who are either learning English or struggle with reading and writing in their daily life. We find volunteer tutors for adults working on math and basic computer skills. We focus on improving access to learning for adult with economic barriers.

CALLS also partners with other community organizations who provide community capacity learning opportunities to help make sure that learning in accessible throughout our communities.
